By promoting greater access to affordable, reliable, and clean energy, we have impacted the energy consumption of over 11 million people in 40+ countries. Since 2000, TotalEnergies has had a significant presence in the Middle East energy sector with projects like Taweelah, producing 10% of the United Arab Emirates’s clean water and electricity. In 2013, in collaboration with Masdar and Abengoa, we developed and launched Shams 1, the first utility-scale solar power project in Abu Dhabi and one of the largest concentrated solar plants (CSP) in the region. This project supplies 110 MW of clean energy directly into the UAE national grid, generating enough power for 20,000 homes.

We finance the entire project, allowing our customers to pay only for the energy generated through simple monthly payments with no upfront investment.
